dogs of the Black Sea

We got a wild hair to go play some tennis after a long day at the beach today. Our friends had brought a few rackets with them and one found a court and made reservations while we still sat on the waters edge. The court was kind of rustic as you can see from the pictures. Cuter still were all the dogs roaming around. I think they are wild as I see many roaming haphazardly all around this coast. This morning one snarled at me and chased after me on a morning run. I didn't think too much of it.

Carmen was last to take the court to exchange a few balls with her boyfriend, a tennis pro. She opted not change from the beach nor even don tennis shoes. Pretty tough I think! She had only hit a few times when one of the little dogs trotted over to her and nipped the back of her leg! He bit her hard! We were all in a little bit of shock. Of course we got out of there fast in spite of the club owner and dog owner each telling us the dog was not rabid.

Video taken before we knew they were vicious.

She is ok now if you're wondering. We went to the pharmacy to get some things to clean the wound and talked her into going to the hospital where they gave her a shot and antibiotics.

what not to wear..

..something sitting on top of your dirty clothes hamper is my advice.

I grabbed a hooded sweatshirt as it was cooling off this evening before heading to the nursery to grab a few plants for a project I'm doing tomorrow. I just threw it on and rushed out the door. The nursery was very helpful in picking out the right plants and kept me within budget. I happily towed my little cart full of plants extremely happy that a salesperson didn't help me to my car when I spied a pair of my panties laying in the path leading from the parking lot.

Oh they were mine!

They were too nice to leave there and the place was practically deserted so I scooped them up and got out of there as fast as I could!

"do not disturb"

I’m traveling this week in Mexico helping to solve an engineering problem for a company here. They made arrangements for me to stay in the nicest hotel in the area which also has a restaurant where it is safe for me to eat and drink anything. I am very grateful for this. There is still some cultural differences however.

Now that it was Friday night and I planned to catch up on sleep having not slept at all the night before I flew out and working ten hour days in a 95 degree hot and noisy factory this week, I put the "do not disturb" sign on my door last night to ensure housekeeping will not wake me up, right?

I got an insistent knock on the door at 9:45 this morning as well I could hear they were knocking on many doors leading up to mine and I remember many "do not disturb" signs on other doors as I walked to my room last night. I opened the door and pointed to the sign. The maid was checking to make sure I really meant just do not disturb or if I wanted my room cleaned now or later.

** Note that in this private courtyard this morning starting at 9:30, there are several men working on trimming the trees, pounding something making a clang, clang, clang noise for the last forty minutes, as well as they are talking and yelling to each other some of the men right outside my patio (the whole room has windows/doors facing the courtyard). Couldn't they do this during the week? As I have written this account, a sprinkler has been set up now and forceful water hits my windows about two feet off from the floor every 90 seconds.

Hmmf.
